Who should choose James Bond Island?
Phang Nga Bay is perfect if you get seasick easily, travel with grandparents or small children, or prefer nature and photography to swimming. Paddling into a hidden lagoon surrounded by cliffs is a memory most guests talk about for years. The stop at Koh Panyee also shows you how a Muslim fishing community has lived on the water for generations.

Who should choose Phi Phi?
Phi Phi is for beach lovers and snorkelers. The water around Khai Island and Tonsai Bay is clear and full of fish, and the views of Pileh Lagoon and Maya Bay are some of the most photographed in Asia. Remember that swimming is not allowed at Maya Bay itself, and the bay closes every August and September.

What about the weather?
From November to April the sea is usually calm and both tours are excellent. From May to October, the southwest monsoon can bring waves on the open sea. In that season James Bond Island is the safer bet, because Phang Nga Bay is sheltered and trips are cancelled less often.
Can I do both?
Yes, and many guests do. Book them on different days so you are rested. A good plan is Phi Phi early in your stay, when you are full of energy for snorkeling, and James Bond Island later as a relaxed, scenic day.
